Robin Harford leads a plant walk from under an ancient yew tree that slowly makes its way along the river Rother, through a wild flower meadow and then down a biodiverse rich country lane. The route is what he calls a ‘zone of abundance’, and on this course he will cover a minimum 20 wild food plants, showing participants how to identify wild edible plants using his ‘sensory method of plant identification’. They will learn how to cook, prepare and preserve the plants that are found, as well as be immersed in their mystery, history and folklore. Sustainable foraging, safety guidelines, and the law are also covered. The location will be revealed after booking.
