Tuesday August 21, 10am
The garden at Charleston, the home of the artist Vanessa Bell ,which became a meeting place for the artistic Bloomsbury Group, was designed by artist and critics Roger Fry and it was planted to be painted. Sussex-based artist Julian Le Bas gives a day’s intensive painting tuition when students can lose themselves in the atmosphere of the Walled Garden and surrounding grounds. Looking at approaches to composition, there’s a particular emphasis on colour. The class is suitable for improvers and students should bring their own paints. Easels, boards and brushes are provided. Picture: Julian Le Bas.
A tour of the house and garden, an artisan lunch, tea and coffees and are included in the cost.
